On July 15th, many German universities set the deadline for prospective student applications for the coming winter term and - as usual - many international students wished to enroll. Since 2007, there is a standardized entrance exam for international applicants: the "Test for Academic Studies" (TestAS). TestAS aims to ensure a centrally standardised selection procedure for entrance to German universities.
TestAS was commissioned by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and can be taken worldwide in specially licensed test centres. The next possibilitiy to take the test is in spring 2009.
