The Hans Böckler Foundation of the German Trade Union Association funds socially committed students. One of the foundation's main aims is promoting the exchange of ideas between the academic world, the working world, and the unions. Scholarships are preferably awarded to students who are especially talented but cannot afford a university education. Applicants who have worked before beginng with their university education have especially good chances of receiving grants.
