The Heinrich Böll Foundation is closey affililated with Germany's Green Party. The main focus of its work is on democracy, ecology and international solidarity.
The academic association of the Heinrich Böll Foundation offers between 80 to 100 scholarship and research fellowship positions a year. It promotes outstanding German and foreign undergraduate and graduate students from all departments. The foundation expects its applicants to have shown above-average academic performance and to be socially conscious and active. The grantees should also show the willingness to assume responsiblilty and to actively reflect the goals of the foundation.
In order to apply for a scholarship the applicant should be enrolled at a German university and have completed the first two years of study. Graduate scholars with a foreign degree first have to be enrolled in a German university PhD or post-doctoral program.
