Restaurants

One can eat well in Germany, and restaurants from many different nations mean the hungry public has to struggle over whether tonight it’ll be French, or Chinese, or Italian or Thai. It’s worth noting, foreign restaurants are often cheaper than German restaurants. When you go in a restaurant, you generally seat yourself, although in a few places a manager or maitre d’ will show you to your tables. If all the tables are occupied, try asking whether an empty seat at one of them is free.

Water and bread aren’t generally included in the meal and cost extra. Tipping is the most common and considerate way to say that the meal was good. Round small amounts up to the next euro. With larger bills you might add a few more euro to the tip. Seven percent is a good number to go by. Enjoy your meal!
